There’s a point at the beginning of every substantial renovation project when you take a space that probably looks ok, a space that might work just fine, and you have to utterly destroy it. Demo is, of course, done in the pursuit of a more beautiful, functional room far into the future. But it can be a bit of a slog (unless you’re like Garrett and get a ripple of deep satisfaction at the sight of a spray foamed joist bay ; ).
